ELIZABETH McGREEVY Founder and Executive Director, Travis County
Elizabeth is a nonprofit and private sector professional natural resources and ecological consultant with more than 25 years of expertise in Hill Country working lands and ecosystem analysis, planning, education, project management, conflict mitigation, and best development practices. Her well-researched book, Wanted! Mountain Cedars, Dead and Alive, advances many of the nature-based solutions that serve as the basis of the Project Bedrock mission. A sixth-generation Texan, Elizabeth received her master's degree from Texas A&M and is a certified permaculture planner.
PAUL SANCHEZ-NAVARRO Strategic Advisor, Comal County
Paul has 30 years of experience working on environmental sustainability issues worldwide. His Mexican heritage, global experiences, and international relations master's degree from the University of New Orleans contributed to his holistic understanding of Texas's environmental challenges. Paul designed environmental policy strategies for conservation organizations, improved environmental policy frameworks, and developed on-the-ground wildlife conservation projects. He worked as a policy advisor at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Switzerland, WWF Mexico, and Pronatura in Mexico City. He served on the watershed council for the Yucatan Peninsula karst ecosystem, as the director of the Centro Ecológico Akumal on the Mexican Caribbean, and as the director of the Mexican Organization for Nature Conservation (OMCA). After returning to Texas, Paul developed a state-wide conservation strategy for Defenders of Wildlife.
PETE VAN DYCK Education Coordinator, Blanco County
Pete is the owner of Van Dyck Earthworks. His company provides award-winning, regenerative plans and installations to slow and manage stormwater flows. He also teaches classes on permaculture and stormwater flow management for Earth Repair Corps nonprofit. He was born and raised in Oklahoma.
