Laurel Robertson finds pleasure in analyzing soil samples under a microscope to identify and quantify the microorganisms found there, and through that predict the health and fertility of the soils they populate. Learning to interpret the dynamic dance between plants and soil microbes has made her a better gardener, a better supporter of the environment in which we live, and a better grandmother.
