A History of Degradation

For the last 150 years we’ve been pushing this region towards rocky desertification because we didn’t understand what’s going on under the surface.

Where is Karst Country?

Texas karst country is the geographical region that makes up about 20% of Texas. It is dominated by limestone bedrock that easily dissolves to form karst features, such as disappearing springs, caves, aquifers, sinkholes, and rock outcroppings.

Sinkholes

Sinkholes are a common Texas karst country feature.

Sinkholes help mitigate flood waters and recharge aquifers when not clogged with trash and debris.
