“WATER RANCHING” VIDEO

One of our team members, Bryan Hummel, knows a lot about harvesting overland flows “to turn flood liabilities into groundwater assets.” For decades, landowners have been encouraged to manage their lands in such a way that increases runoff. The resulting problems are more erosion, more flooding, and less water soaking into the ground to hydrate vegetation and recharge groundwater. In this video, Bryan uses the backdrop and issues of the Texas Hill Country to explain the basics of “water ranching.”

KISS THE GROUND MOVIE

Want to learn more about the regenerative agriculture movement and how regenerating soils can help restore ecological balance around the world? Then watch the movie trailer for Kiss the Ground (the movie is on Amazon Prime). When we attended the Austin movie premiere in 2020, we were amazed to see the theater was packed with the younger generation. Their energy and hope were palpable!

The of the most thought provoking stories from the movie was about a farmer who switched from conventional farming techniques that depended on chemicals to regenerative techniques that focused on feeding the soil. He now makes a profit and no longer needs government subsidies.
