It’s Happening!

Our work has officially begun to develop a decision-making tool for Texas karst country landowners. The draft outline is almost complete. This Thursday Elizabeth McGreevy, Steve Nelle, and Peggy Sechrist will meet at the Johnson City Public Library to review the outline and propose modifications and improvements.

Team Specialists

We’re in the process of assembling an amazing team of field specialists who bring a variety of expertise to the table, including soil biology, forest ecology, hydrology, wildlife biology, regenerative ranching, and implementation. If you would like to join our team, please email Elizabeth.

These specialists will assist us as we develop the land reading, ecozone grouping, and technique aspects of the process. The most recent team members are Lee Burton, Romey Swanson, Elenore Goode, and Karl Flocke. Both Burton and Swanson will help us use wildlife signs to determine ecological health. Goode brings general ecological and prescribed burn expertise. Flocke, with the Texas A&M Forest Service, will provide insight on forest indicators and management techniques.

Example: matted leaf debris indicates a regenerating pioneer thicket that needs more seed diversity.
